Here you will find the answers to the most frequently asked questions about Swopti. We have collected all the information you need to make your lens replacement smooth and easy.
Lenses
Can you swop lenses in all types of frames?
We can swop lenses in basically all frames except sport frames with curved lenses and frames with completely flat lenses. If your frames are very old or worn, however, problems may arise. If we judge that the frame is fragile, we will inform you of the risk before we swop the lenses, so that you can decide whether we should try or not.
What types of lenses do you offer?
We offer most types of lenses such as single-vision, progressives, computer lenses or non-prescription lenses. You can choose whether you want clear lenses, sun lenses (with or without polarization) or light-responsive lenses. Where do you make the lenses?
Our lenses are made at our Swedish lab. It is a premium supplier with extensive experience.
Do the lenses come with a warranty?
We guarantee that the powers are correct according to the prescription and specifications you provide us. Should there be any inaccuracies in the lenses, we will refund you or make new lenses. In addition, a 12-month warranty on lens and coatings.
Do you offer tinted lenses?
Yes, we do. We offer both solid and gradient tints in different variations. You can read more about them on our lenses page.
Do you offer prism lenses?
We do, up to 5 prism diopters per eye is usually not a problem. It should also be stated on the prescription document how it should be distributed between right and left. Please email us your prescription at hello@swopti.co and we will take it from there.
Where do I add segment height?
Once you have clicked on “Order now”, you will first be asked to select your lenses and then to enter your prescription powers or upload your prescription document. This is also the step where you enter your segment height. If you don't have a segment height for your glasses, you can easily mark it with the help of a friend/family member. To do this, follow these steps:
- Put on your glasses and make sure they fit comfortably on your nose.
- Stand up straight and look straight ahead.
- Ask someone to stand in front of you and mark a dot (with a permanent marker) on the lens where the center of your pupil is visible.
- If the mark needs to be adjusted, carefully remove the previous dot with a little methylated spirits and repeat the process.
What lens index do you offer?
At Swopti, you don't have to choose a lens index yourself. Our prices are fixed, and you never pay extra for thinner lenses. We always select the appropriate lens index based on your frame and prescription to ensure your lenses are as thin and lightweight as possible — at no additional cost.
How thin are your lenses?
We always adjust the thickness of the lenses based on your frame and your prescription. At Swopti, you never have to pay extra for thinner lenses — we automatically select the lens material and index that will give you the thinnest and lightest lenses possible.
Prices
What does your pricing look like?
Our prices are fixed which means you don't pay more if your powers are high. We also include scratch-resistant, anti-reflective and dirt-repellent lens coatings as well as shipping without extra charge.

How can you be so cheap compared to traditional opticians?
We have worked in the optical industry for a long time and know that lenses are often sold with extremely high margins. The cost of the lens material, manufacturing the lens and fitting it into the frame is not as expensive as the traditional opticians would have you believe. By operating our business online, without expensive retail locations, warehouses or extensive marketing costs, we can offer the same high quality lenses at significantly lower prices.
Do you have to pay more for thin lenses?
Our prices are always fixed, regardless of yoour prescription. This means that we make your lenses as thin as possible, without charging extra for it.
Prescription
Do I need a new prescription document to make an order?
There is no requirement as to how new your prescription document should be, but we usually recommend that it should not be older than 1 year. But as long as you're happy with your current prescription, we're happy.
How do I provide you with my prescription document?
When you click on ‘Order now’, you first choose the type of lenses you want and optional extra coatings. In the last step, you can choose to upload your prescription document as a JPG, PDF file or if you are on your phone, you have the option to take a picture of the prescription. You can also enter your powers manually or send the prescription doc to us by email.
Miscellaneous
What happens if my frames are lost during shipping or broken when swopping lenses?
If a frame is lost during delivery or — in the unlikely event — we accidentally damage a frame during the installation of new lenses, we offer compensation according to the following:
New frame (maximum 1 month old)
We compensate up to 100% of the purchase price, with a maximum of 2,000 SEK. To qualify for compensation, a receipt no older than 1 month must be provided. The frame must be in very good condition and may only show minimal signs of use. Compensation applies to the frame only – not the lenses.
We will also refund the cost of lenses ordered via swopti.co, provided the lenses are returned to us.
Used frame (maximum 6 months old)
We compensate up to 50% of the purchase price, with a maximum of 1,000 SEK. To qualify for compensation, a receipt showing the frame is no older than 6 months must be provided. Compensation applies to the frame only – not the lenses.
We will also refund the cost of lenses ordered via swopti.co, provided the lenses are returned to us.
If no receipt is available or the frame is older than 6 months
A fixed compensation of 500 SEK will be provided. We will also refund the cost of lenses ordered via swopti.co, provided the lenses are returned to us.
Important additional information for new frames
Swopti reserves the right to assess the condition of the frame in the event of damage. Even if a receipt is presented, compensation may be adjusted if the frame shows clear signs of use or if other circumstances raise doubts about the purchase date or the frame’s condition.
What is your return policy?
As the lenses are specially ordered for you and your frames, we are unfortunately unable to accept returns. However, we guarantee that the lenses are correctly made according to your prescription and specifications you give us. If there are any inaccuracies in the powers of the lenses, we will refund you or offer to re-make the lenses.
How do I ship my frames to you?
When you have placed your order, we will send you a package with everything you need to easily pack and send your glasses to us. More info here.
